Chester Zoo near Wharton Lock Apartment
Just on the outskirts of Chester, about 4 miles from Wharton Lock Holiday Apartment, you will find the famous Chester Zoo this is regarded as one of the top zoos in Europe. It covers an area of 100 acres and contains over 5,000 animals that live in spacious near-natural surroundings; these are set in the largest zoological gardens in the UK - and is featured in Cheshire's Year of Gardens 2008. The zoo is easily reached by local bus.
