Grand National Aintree Race Course near Chester
John Smiths Grand National is held each year in Aintree, Liverpool, approximately 25 miles from your holiday at Wharton Lock Holiday Apartment.
The steeplechase is run over two circuits of the Aintree course, covering four and half miles. There are 16 fences on the track, 14 of which are jumped twice some famous ones are Becher's Brook and The Chair. The Grand National is the centrepiece of a three-day meeting, one of only four run at Aintree in the racing season.
