Sandstone Trail near Chester, Cheshire

Enjoy a day out from Wharton Lock Apartment walking along at the original Sandstone Trail which officially opened in 1974, it follows the ridge of sandstone that rises dramatically from the Cheshire plain and recently it has been extended, so it now links the towns of Frodsham and Whitchurch.

The Trail has been split into three sections of 17km or just over 10 miles, which most people should find an enjoyable days walk.
